Speed may have been involved in motorcycle vs. vehicle crash.
[view:node_ad=5]A Lancaster man was killed Tuesday morning on Wiley Canyon Road in Valencia when the motorcycle he was driving hit a vehicle turning left at Tournament Road.
According to Deputy Robert Smoldt, a traffic investigator at the Santa Clarita station, Peter Neptune, 23, was on a 2003 Yamaha R6 motorcycle traveling westbound on Wiley Canyon at a high rate of speed when he hit a 2004 Honda Civic driven by 25-year-old Dejah Morris of Newhall.
The force of the impact flipped Morris’ car onto its side and Neptune was ejected from the motorcycle. Emergency personnel at the scene administered CPR to Neptune, but he was declared dead at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where he and Morris were transported. Morris suffered minor injuries in the crash.
It was estimated that Neptune was traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph along the residential street before the crash. Traffic in the area was restricted for just over three hours as deputies conducted their investigation.
