UPDATED: Gas Line Break In Canyon Country

khts_breakingnews2UPDATED 4:46 p.m.

Stillmore Street in Canyon Country was closed for more than two hours Tuesday afternoon due to a gas line break. Gas Company officials fixed the problem, caused by a maintenance worker that severed a pipe and restored service at approximately 4 p.m.

Apartments in the affected complex in the 19000 block of Stillmore Street were evacuated shortly after 1:30 p.m. and students at Sierra Vista Junior High School were released from the Pleasantdale and Camp Plenty Road gates of the school.

The gas feed line into an apartment building was apparently sheared off by a construction worker. Sheriff’s deputies and fire department personnel responded to the scene for traffic control.

No injuries were reported.
