UPDATED 2:30 p.m. Monday
The motorcyclists killed while enroute to the annual Love Ride in Castaic have been identified by coroner officials.
According to Capt. Ed Winter, the male victim, who was driving the motorcycle, was Romarino Zeri, 51, of Los Angeles. His female rider was Julie Anne Cameron, 38, of Venice.
The pair were killed Sunday morning as they headed north on the I-5 to attend the charity fundraiser. According to Love Ride officials, this is the first fatal crash involving participants in the annual event.
California Highway Patrol Officer Christian Cracraft said that officers received a call at 11:12 a.m. about a crash on the northbound I-5 just south of Branford Street.
Cracraft said that traffic in the area was slow due to an earlier accident up ahead of that location.

Zeri split the 3 and 4 lanes and became entangled with a big rig; both he and Cameron were run over by the truck and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Cracraft, the decedents were participating in the Love Ride, although he noted that “they weren’t riding with the big group.”
