UPDATED 1:40 p.m.
Full phone service has been restored across the Santa Clarita Valley, according to officials at AT&T.
Phones were out sporadically Valencia and parts of Newhall most of Friday morning. Dana Cop, Director of External Affairs for AT&T said that the problem started in a controlled-environment vault near the Valencia Town Center/City Hall area.
Technicians responded to the area about 11:30 to fix the problem.

In addition to the phone outage, power was out in spots for a short while, including Placerita Junior High and Hart High School. Most of those problems could be traced back to high winds.
People trying to use phones in the affected area Friday morning had difficulty dialing out or got “all circuits busy” messages when they try to call. It was reported that along with the sheriff’s station and City Hall, phones were out at Facey Medical Center and the Newhall School District offices.
