UPDATED: 5:44 p.m. Power has now been restored to the area.
High winds took down a power pole just before 6 a.m., knocking out power for 408 homes in the Sand Canyon area, but crews have been able to turn the lights back on for the majority of customers affected.

The outage, which was reported at 5:40 a.m. initially affected 408 locations, but shortly after noon, power had been restored to all but seven homes. The rest of the affected homes had their power restored in the evening. The affected homes were located on Pineview Road.
