UPDATED 1:28 p.m. MONDAY – I-5 is now open, as is Highway 14 into the Antelope Valley.
The I-5 closed since midday Sunday because of snow in the Grapevine that extended into Santa Clarita, causing hazardous conditions on surface streets and turned front lawns across the area into giant playgrounds.
The California Highway Patrol has closed the northbound I-5 at Templin Highway and have units in the area to divert wrong-way drivers away from the closure.
