The Valencia fire charred 149 acres, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

“There are no evacuations at this time — it seems to be blowing away from everything,” said Deputy Jeff Maag of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The fire was moving in a northwestern direction, aided by the winds, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

“They expect to have 100 percent containment by 6 p.m.,” said Inspector Keith Mora, noting that the operation was in the mop-up phases.

No structures were threatened and no injuries have been reported, according to fire officials.

“A brush fire ignited on the county property, located adjacent to the west side of the park,” according to a statement from Sue Carpenter, spokeswoman for Six Flags Magic Mountain. “Although the park is unaffected, our top priority is the safety of our guests and employees. We are working closely with the Los Angeles County Fire Department to provide access to the area.”

The nearest schools to the fire are Rancho Pico Junior High School and West Ranch High School, but neither school is in lock down or about to be evacuated.

“The fire is burning in a brush area closer to Magic Mountain,” said West Ranch High School Principal Bob Vincent.” There is no need for an evacuation at this time.”

The fire is moving uphill. It is in the vicinity of The Old Road and Magic Mountain Parkway.

The winds are being reported at 10-15 mph.

A third-alarm response was called shortly after noon. A second-alarm response was called at around 11:45 a.m.

A first-alarm response was dispatched at 11:24 a.m., according to Los Angeles County Fire Department officials.

No evacuations have been called for at this time.
