Two missed payments force owner to find new management company.
The popular Valencia Country Club is facing an uncertain future,
according to information circulating among members as well as a statement from
CNL Lifestyle Properties issued a statement Monday regarding
the club’s future:
“One of CNL Lifestyle Properties’ tenants, Heritage Golf
Group, recently notified us that it is no longer willing to continue making its
lease payments on Valencia Country Club in Santa Clarita…Heritage has been
placed in default of the leases by CNL Lifestyle Properties.”
The statement goes on to say that CNL Lifestyle Properties
has drawn on Heritage’s security deposit to cover the delinquent rent and that KemperSports
will assume operation of the local club on March 1.
KemperSports manages nearly 100 golf, resort and sports
facilities across America
and has been developing golf courses since 1978. They also do sports-oriented
public relations and event marketing.
Members were informed of the management changes over the
last weekend and reassured that several familiar staff were staying, including
PGA Pro Craig Cliver and General Manager Jim Fitzsimmons.
