Local Hockey team is recruiting announcer for home broadcasts.
[view:node_ad=5]The Valencia Flyers, the local Junior ‘A’ hockey team in Santa Clarita, are looking for a play-by-play announcer for the teams internet broadcasts.
The Flyers broadcast all home games over the internet and are in need of a volunteer to call the games.
The Western States Hockey League, which is the league the Flyers play in, fills a void for high school students looking for a hockey outlet, according to Flyers head coach Chris Harlty.
“For our area down here there’s no big high school level …and that’s where the tier three Junior ‘A” comes in,” said Hartly.
The players on the team range in age from 15 to 20 and come from all over Southern California, but some come from as far away as Minnesota.
Junior ‘A’ hockey is the highest level of amateur hockey played in the United States.
The team is currently ranked third in the W.S.H.L.
