Students organize festival to educate the public on environmental issues.
In an effort to educate people about sustainable living options and conservation, Valencia High School's EPA Club, Valencia High School Key Club and Girl Scout Troop 745 will host EcoFest 2008.
No one will deny that we have to be good stewards of our earth’s resources. So, also at the EcoFest students will discuss current environmental issues that either affect your life today or will impact the future for your children.
At the event, there will be activities for the whole family. There will be food and beverages, t-shirts, eco-friendly raffle prizes from their sponsors including Whole Foods and Ecojot. The kids can enjoy face painting, games, live entertainment, and vendor booths from many businesses and organizations including, AVEDA and The Placerita Canyon Nature Center.
So, come to Valencia High School on May 18th between 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. for Santa Clarita Valley’s first ever EcoFest. The best part is, admission is free.
If you are interested in becoming a vendor for an affordable cost of $15, or a sponsor, there is still time, contact Hannah Goldner, EPA President and EcoFest Founder.
