At about 1 p.m. Monday, Branden Dotson, 21, of Los Angeles entered the Prince of Jewelers Jewelry store in Valencia and requested to look at a large 3.85 carat diamond….

Employees noticed a suspicious attitude about the suspect, so they stood by the door.  Almost as if staged, the suspect took the diamond and ran, where the employees and a customer tackled the suspect and held him down until Sheriff’s deputies arrived a few minutes later.

The suspect was arrested for Strong Arm Robbery and booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff;s Station.  The diamond was valued at over $100,000, and Dotson is being held on $50,000 bail.
