An anonymous tip led deputies to a cache of weapons held by a convicted sex offender subject to periodic probation checks.
Deputies went to the home of Tyler Lee Ferguson in the 24000 block of Master Cup Way in Valencia, where they found Ferguson in possession of five guns, a violation of his probation.
Lt. Marc Hershey told KHTS that the anonymous information, called in to the WeTip line, warned of the numerous weapons at Ferguson’s home. Because of his criminal history, which included conviction of felony sex crimes, deputies organized a check Friday morning, when the weapons were found.

Ferguson claimed the guns were part of an inheritance from his grandparents. They included a .308 bolt action rifle and a .32 caliber rifle and three pistols: a 9mm, .45 and .38 caliber handguns.
He was arrested for violating his probation by possessing the guns and ammunition. In the course of his arrest, deputies were directed to a location in Green Valley, where they found four shotguns, three more pistols and 2,000 rounds of ammunition.
At that location, deputies became aware of a Castaic location that was linked to Ferguson and went there, where they confiscated a Yugoslavian-made Zastava .308 caliber high powered rifle and magazines of ammunition.
Ferguson now faces additional charges of possession of an assault weapon. He is being held without bail at the Santa Clarita Valley station.
