Without identifying the teacher, Valencia Principal Paul Priesz sent the following voice and e-mail message to parents Friday afternoon:

Although the District does not typically comment on the details of personnel-related allegations while an investigation is pending, because parents have expressed concern about the possible nature of the alleged misconduct and whether it involves misconduct with minors or Valencia students we are issuing this advisory to parents.
The alleged misconduct involves a Valencia High School teacher electronically transmitting inappropriate materials to an adult who is a former Valencia High School student. There is no allegation at this time regarding any conduct between the teacher and any minor or any existing Valencia High School students, nor is there any allegation at this time regarding any physical interaction between the teacher and anyone.
Please be assured that the school and District appreciates the important role that teachers serve in our community, and for this reason we are investigating the matter and will take appropriate action. The teacher is on leave.”
