The Santa Clarita City Council is hosting a Veterans Day Ceremony at the City Veterans Historical Plaza.
The ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 11, and will include musical performers, speakers, and a changing of the flags.
The city worked with local veterans committees including the Historical Veterans Committee, Prayer Angels for the Military, Blue Star Mothers of the Canyons Chapters 82 and 91, and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution.
“The members of these organizations are our direct link to the veterans, and those currently serving in the military,” said Phil Lantis, Santa Clarita Arts and Events Manager.
Dick Jeffrey, of the Santa Clarita memorial Committee, will be the Master of Ceremonies, while the Valencia High School Junior ROTC program will provide the color guard and exhibition rifle team.
Council members Laurie Ender, Bob Kellar, Marsha McLean and Mayor Pro-tem Laurene Weste will also be speaking at the event.
The Historical Plaza is located at 24275 N. Walnut St. in Old Town Newhall.
