Local office makes myriad of services available to veterans and families.

To provide information and assistance to veterans, their dependents and families regarding potential veterans benefits and other vital services, the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs has opened a new Veterans Service Office at 24271 Main Street in Newhall, announced Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

Information on the following services will be provided to veterans and their families:

Compensation for service-connected disabled veterans

Pension for non-service connected disabled veterans

Medical or Mental Health Care

Educational and vocational rehabilitation benefits

VA/Cal Vet home loan guaranty programs

State of California dependents college fee waiver program ($10,488 income limit)

Life Insurance

Cemeteries and burial (including indigent burials)

Benefits for surviving spouse and children
