Local Students Asked to Volunteer For City’s Cowboy Festival.
The City of Santa Clarita is inviting local youth to volunteer to help out at the City’s upcoming Cowboy Festival. Students, aged 11 to 14, who need to fulfill community service hours or who are simply interested in volunteering, can sign up to work at the Cowboy Festival’s Gold Rush Food Court, on April 28 or 29. There are also many volunteer opportunities for teens ages 15 and over at the Cowboy Festival.
Interested applicants must fill out a volunteer form and returned to the City no later than April 9, 2007. Forms are available from the Community Services Office, located at City Hall.
All Volunteens must attend a mandatory Volunteen Round-Up event on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 7:00 pm. The round-up will be held in Council Chambers at City Hall. Refreshments will be served. City Hall is located at 23920 Valencia Boulevard.
“We always look forward to giving local students the opportunity to volunteer at the Cowboy Festival,” said Susana Campbell, Volunteer Programs Coordinator for the City. “They get a chance to fulfill their community service hours and they also get to experience one of the City’s most popular events all year. The Cowboy Festival is a great showcase of our City’s western heritage and our Volunteens get to be a part of it.”
