The next chance to see rainfall in the Santa Clarita Valley is Thursday night into Friday, said Jayme Laber, a hydrologist with The National Weather Service (NWS).

“This next storm is going to be a very small storm with only a tenth to two-tenths of an inch expected,” Laber continued. “Although the storm is expected to be small, snow levels are going to drop down to as low of 4,500 ft. which could affect the Grapevine.”

Due to the lack of rain that is predicted, flooding shouldn’t be too much of a concern, the hydrologist went on to say.

This storm will be bringing cooler temperatures to the Santa Clarita Valley, according to NWS officials.

Temperatures are set to drop down to 45 degrees Thursday night, Friday’s high will be 58 degrees and Friday night temperatures can reach as low as 34 degrees, Laber explained.

“There is another chance to see rain next Monday and Tuesday, but it is still to early to know how much rain there will be,” Laber concluded.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
