Despite rains that continued to pelt the northeastern Santa Clarita Valley on Friday night, the area apparently avoided additional serious damage at the start of the weekend. . .
The National Weather Service reported a chance of rain from Tuesday through Saturday.
Santa Clarita buses were running on Bouquet Canyon Road again Saturday, negotiating the single-lane section that was reopened after much of the road washed out last month. Bus service Friday was temporarily halted on the stretch.
At the Polynesian Mobile Home Park, resident Hadassah Foster said the main road into the park on Saturday had about 3 inches of water and mud running over the main bridge. However, it’s not as bad as it has been.
“People are not stuck right now,” Foster said.
Swiftly moving water from an adjacent creek has caused numerous blockages since the storms last month, at times trapping people inside the park.
