The front window of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry on Railroad Avenue and five other businesses were shot out by vandals early Thursday morning.
Lt. Joseph Efflandt said calls started coming in at 6:30 a.m. about the windows. Also reporting damage were Yum Yum Donuts and an escrow company on Lyons Avenue.

So far, there are six victims, one on Railroad Avenue and five on Lyons Avenue. It also appears that the Pantry was the first business to get hit.
“Right now it appears to be a random act of vandalism, similar to the windows shot out in Canyon Country a few weeks ago,” he continued. On October 21, fifteen businesses along Soledad Canyon Road, between Reuther Drive and Sand Canyon Road, had their windows shattered by marbles allegedly fired from paintball guns. Efflandt also added that deputies suspect that a small caliber pellet or BB gun was used in the shooting. Damages are estimated in excess of $10,000.
