Valencia woman was arrested at gunpoint in front of a Valencia gas station Tuesday in connection with a murder investigation in Northern California, an official said. Stephanie Riley, 47, of Valencia, was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear, said sheriff’s Lt. Brenda Cambra. Initially, the woman was stopped by deputies at the Shell gas station on the corner of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard in conjunction with information deputies had received from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department regarding a murder investigation. Sacramento Sheriff’s Department told deputies at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station that a man wanted for murder could be in the region. Deputies had been watching the black Ford sports utility vehicle Riley was in for almost five hours before stopping it around 1:40 p.m. With guns drawn, several deputies in five vehicles removed and detained Riley and an unidentified man from the SUV. “We stopped (Riley), but the wanted person was not inside the vehicle,” Cambra said. Officials believe that the man wanted in connection with the murder investigation has left the area, Cambra said. Riley was initially detained and then arrested for a misdemeanor warrant.
