A woman was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning in the parking lot of the Travelodge on Sierra Highway in Canyon Country.

Lt. Mark Hershey of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said that the woman was leaving for work around 6:30 a.m. when she was approached by a black man with a gun who demanded her money and jewelry.

After the woman complied, the man got into a black SUV and drove toward Soledad Canyon Road.

The woman was not injured. Deputies are still searching for the suspect; anyone with information is asked to call the SCV Sheriff’s office at 661-255-1121.
