Women Artists of the West Art Exhibition at Hart Park

Women Artists of the West (WAOW, pronounced “wow”) will hold its fourth annual art exhibit and sale at Hart Park Hall, William S. Hart Park, Newhall, California, April 28 – May 1, also joining with the City of Santa Clarita Cowboy Festival activities at the Park.

WAOW will hold a reception at Hart Park Hall for the Cowboy Poets and other Festival Participants on Thursday evening, April 28th, from 6 pm to 8 pm. Reception is open to the public. That same evening, several WAOW members will participate in a “Quick Draw” at the Hart Mansion where artists have just 60 minutes to complete a painting, frame it, and put it up for auction to the event ticket holders. WAOW is pleased to announce that a percentage of all art sales during the show will be donated to Wildlife WayStation, a local nonprofit haven for wild animals situated in the mountains above Tujunga. Wildlife WayStation will have exhibits at Hart Park on Saturday, April 30th.

WAOW is an organization of women artists working in diverse mediums and styles. Art featured in the show includes original works in oil, watercolor, mixed-media pieces, pencil, pastel, mezzotint and other fine art print processes, and sculptures in bronze and clay. Subject matter includes horses, figures, wildlife, landscape, still life and abstract works.

Women Artists of the West show hours at Hart Park Hall:
– Thursday, April 28th, 2 pm – 8 pm, with a reception for
Cowboy Poets 6 pm – 8 pm.
– Friday, April 29th, 10 am – 4 pm.
– Saturday, April 30th, 10 am – 7 pm, including exhibits and wild animals by Wildlife Waystation, with a reception in their honor from 2 pm – 5 pm, and a special presentation at 4 pm.
– Sunday, May 1st, 10 am – 4 pm.
