Women In Media To Be Honored

American Women in Radio and Television Southern California Chapter (AWRT) will be hosting their 53rd Annual Genii Awards on Wednesday April 14th at the Skirball Center in LA.

This is their biggest fundraiser of the year, providing Scholarships for students studying Radio, TV and the allied fields.

Among this years honorees are Betty White, Mary Hart of Entertainment Tonight and Alana Stewart for her Documentary ‘Farrah’s Story’.

“The Southern California chapter of AWRT does so much amazing work,” said Shelley Lee a member of the AWRT Executive Board of Directors.  “Before the Holiday’s we hosted a Media event at the LA Regional Food Bank, which helped to increase the amount of food they were able to provide to citizens by over 40%.”

Shelley Lee, who also hosts AM1220’s Afternoon Drive, says that the organization also participates in the Susan G Komen Walk/Run For The Cure, which will be held at Dodger Stadium on March 14th.
