Women To Get Financial Guidance From Zonta Workshop

LeslyeMackheadshotLocal women who are just starting to think about such things as bank accounts and online banking will get some welcome tips from a free LifeForward workshop sponsored by Zonta Club of the Santa Clarita Valley on Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the community room at Valencia Library.

The workshop, which will teach women the basic elements of checking and savings accounts, fees and banking choices, is the second in a series of LifeForward workshops to be presented this year by GBD Enterprises, based in the Antelope Valley. The workshop presenter will be Leslye Mack, president of GBDE and director of empowerment training for the non-profit agency.

The Nov. 14 workshop will help women decide whether they really need a bank account, what kind works best for their personal needs, how to determine which bank is giving the best “deal” and the advantages and disadvantages of online banking. Women will come away from the session armed with the information and tools to make sound financial decisions.

LifeForward programs are open to local women free of charge and will focus on such topics as financial management, communications and relationship skills, job hunting, time management, nutrition and wellness. Upcoming topics include credit and credit history on Dec. 12, borrowing basics on Jan. 23 and goal setting for the new year on Jan. 30. The workshops are held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday mornings at the Canyon Country Jo Anne Darcy Library. No child care is available.

The workshops are designed to empower women to believe in themselves and their unlimited potential, build the skills necessary to succeed and be the powerful woman they are meant to be. For more information or to register, visit www.scvzonta.org or call 252-9351.
