Event is part of the “Oaktober” lineup.
In the City of Santa Clarita, October is about much more than Halloween…it’s about Oak trees.
Oak trees are a staple of the Santa Clarita landscape, adorning everything from our parks to our City seal. The City even went as far as to protect the trees within their governance area, and dedicated the tenth month of the year as “Oaktober,” also referred to as “Oak Tree Awareness Month.”
To help Santa Clarita residents better understand oak trees, City arborists have planned a workshop that details the proper care of oak trees, fire clearance, and the oak tree permit process. The event will take place Wednesday, October 21 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
To participate in the workshop, call the department of Urban Forestry at 661-294-2567.
Signups for a free oak tree will also be available.
