The Zonta club of Santa Clarita Valley is sponsoring a “Workplace Success” workshop from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. on Saturday at the Valencia Library. This free “LifeForward” event will answer questions including what makes a “good employee” an “outstanding” employee, what is appropriate business attire, and what an employee can expect from the company.
A series of LifeForward workshops for the past several months have included topics regarding selecting a career, writing a resume, interviewing, and getting the job. This final workshop in the series will help women be successful at their workplace. Workshop presenters include Terry Kanowsky, Jo Ann Rodriguez, Don Rodriguez and Leslye Mack.
Kanowsky has 18 years of experience in hospital human resources in the areas of recruitment, employee relations and training. Her experience in training at the management and staff levels has provided her a unique perspective on how employees can achieve their full potential to meet and exceed employer expectations.

As captain of the local sheriff’s station and most recently commander of Pitchess Detention Center, Don Rodriguez has a wealth of experience dealing with both public and private sector employees.
Mack, president of GBD Enterprises in the Antelope Valley, has been a popular presenter at a number of previous LifeForward workshops. She is director of empowerment training for her non-profit agency and has led popular workshops dealing primarily with financial acumen and credit issues for women.
Participants will be able to select from donated business-friendly accessories and jewelry to supplement their own wardrobes at the end of the program.
The workshop will be held in the community room of Valencia Library, 23743 Valencia Blvd. It is open to local women free of charge.
Future workshops in the series will include Creating Wellness: Handling Stress & Taking Care of You, on September 25; and Nutrition: Easy Mouthwatering Meals on a Budget on Oct. 30. Locations for the events are to be announced.
