A Palmdale man was killed in a three-car crash on the Antelope Valley (14) Freeway Sunday morning that was apparently caused by a driver going the wrong way, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported just before 3 a.m. CHP units responded to the southbound lanes of the 14 freeway at Santiago Road where they found that Mynor Solares, 30, of Palmdale had been driving his 2001 Ford Explorer northbound in the southbound lanes when he sideswiped a 1992 Ford Mustang, driven by Eloisa Oliva, 30, of Palmdale and collided head-on with a 2006 Nissan Murano driven by Palmdale resident Andres Lazo, 60.
Lazo and Solares were taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Lazo died at the hospital and Solares was placed under arrest for investigation of felony driving under the influence.
