Young Hart Baseball League Athlete Starts ‘Have A Hart’ Cancer Foundation

“Dreaming is believing” according to 9-year-old McKenna Gibson.

A player in the Hart Baseball/Softball League, Gibson has witnessed the families of her teammates struggle with cancer, including several children who have lost their parents to the disease. She wanted to find a way to help.

As Gibson says on her website, “I had a dream and I followed it by starting up the Have a Hart Foundation.”

Have a Hart is a non-profit organization that hopes to pay league registration fees for families dealing with cancer, distribute new or gently used sports equipment and raise money for cancer awareness.

Gibson presented her dream for Have a Hart to the William S. Hart Union High School District Board of Directors at their meeting on Jan. 23.

Donations can be made through the PayPal link on Have a Hart’s website, here. For more information and to contact Have a Hart, click here.
