Your Guide To A Fun 4th Of July In Santa Clarita

Here are some events that will be taking place on Independence Day.

This year, spend your 4th of July with the ones you love at some of these fun, family-friendly events.



Day Time Events


7 a.m-10 a.m.   Santa Clarita Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast


Starting bright and early in the Roger Dunn Golf parking lot on Main Street, is the Santa Clarita Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast.  For just $4.00, you can kick off your 4th of July with a hearty patriotic breakfast comprised of sausage, orange juice, coffee, and buttermilk pancakes with America’s colors in the form of strawberries, blueberries, and a dollop of whipped cream.  There will also be a band and a Raffle.  The Rotary Club is dedicating this year’s pancake breakfast to the Reverend Bob Bingham, a Rotarian for 40 years.


8:00 a.m. Select Streets Close For Parade


The following will be closed 8:00 a.m.:

  • Main Street both directions from Pine Street to Lyons Avenue;
  • Lyons Ave both directions from San Fernando Road to Orchard Village Road;
  • Orchard both directions from Lyons to 16th Street;
  • 16th Street.



8:30 a.m. Santa Clarita Runners’ Independence Day 5K Run and Walk

Taking place at the Newhall Memorial Park, the Santa Clarita Runners’ Independence Day 5K Run and Walk is definitely an event you can bring the whole family to.  You can click here to register.



9:45 a.m. The Annual Fourth of July Parade


This long time tradition is back again and will begin promptly at 9:45 a.m.. At around 1:30 p.m., trophies will be awarded at El Trocadero Restaurant and will be available for pick-up at a later date. KHTS will feature a complete line up of the parade once it is made available, so remember to check later today.




Evening Firework Shows



9:15 p.m. Westfield Town Center Fireworks Show


The fireworks will begin promptly 9:15 p.m. and here are some places you can go for great visibility of the show. Although you can pretty much go anywhere in the Town Center and see the fireworks, these locations will offer you a place where you will have access to both public bathrooms and trash cans.


  • Parking Area 6K – 6G
  • Parking Area 6C, 7A – 7E
  • Parking Area 10K – 10M
  • Parking Area 2D – 2H
  • Parking Area 10C – 10G

You can also listen to the fireworks soundtrack by bringing a portable radio or listening to AM-1220 from your car radio. The fireworks soundtrack will be broadcasted live on KHTS-AM-1220.

Please avoid the Fireworks Fall Zone by staying away from McBean Parkway from the Mall Entrance to Town Center Drive, as wells as parts of Town Center Drive and the area around the Market Garage.

NOTE: McBean Parkway between Valencia Blvd. and Magic Mountain Parkway will be closed to traffic from 8:30 p.m. – 10:15 p.m.


The Greens 4th of July BBQ

Not only will the BBQ feature great food and entertainment, but the Greens will also provide you with prime viewing on their putting course! So remember to bring your blanket for the Westfield Town Center firework show! Call 661-222-2900 for reservations and more information.  The Greens will be open all day but access will be closed from 8:30 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. between Valencia Boulevard and Magic Mountain Parkway.  Please plan accordingly.



9 p.m. Castaic Lake Firework Show

During the day, you can go to the lake for a swim or a picnic and by night you’ll be able to enjoy children’s rides, games, water slides, jumpers, food booths and more.  The musical entertainment will begin at 5:00 p.m.  Starting at 9:00 p.m., Castaic Lake’s “Lights of Freedom” Firework Show will light up the skies.  The cost is $25 per car, $5 per person (walk-ins) and children 5 & under are free.

9:05 p.m. The Annual Stevenson Ranch Fireworks Spectacular

Since 1999, the Annual Stevenson Ranch Fireworks Spectacular at Richard H. Rioux Memorial Park has offered Santa Clarita residents an awesome show.  Nine years later, the event, which is organized by the Stevenson Ranch Civic Committee in association with LA County Parks & Recreation, includes over 600 aerial displays lasting 20 to 25 minutes, as well as music and guest speakers.   Admission is free.



Please note that Six Flags Magic Mountain will no longer be holding their annual summer fireworks celebration due numerous reasons, including the high brush fire conditions.
