Zonta Club To Hold Tribute Dinner For Santa Clarita Women

Zonta Club officials are honoring two Santa Clarita Valley women with global impact at a tribute dinner Nov. 7 at the Hyatt Regency Valencia, according to a news release.

“Professionally, Curtis is the owner and president of Canyon Bulk Inc., a trucking and construction company, and Fleming is the dealer principal and owner of Valencia Acura,” said Zonta Club officials. “Through leadership in their two international organizations, both women have proven leadership working to improve the lives of women and girls around the world through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.”

Invitations are in the mail this week from officials at Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley, inviting community leaders and supporters to Zonta’s 30th annual tribute dinner.Cheri fleming : Zonta Award

Curtis is a past president of Zonta International, and Fleming is the current president of Soroptimist International of the Americas, according to the organization’s statement.

The two honorees have a lot in common besides their dynamic leadership skills, officials said.

They are both wives, mothers, grandmothers, successful business owners in male-dominated fields, dedicated volunteers, and leaders of global volunteer organizations that seek to improve the lives of women and have Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) status with the United Nations, according to a news release.

The annual Tribute dinner is the principal fundraiser for Zonta, a dynamic organization of women working together to advance the status of women through service, advocacy and awareness. Funds from the Tribute support Zonta service projects, scholarships and grants in the local community, according to a news release.

Zonta is currently taking reservations for full tables as well as individual tickets, at $125 each. Sponsorships, tables and ads in the event program are also available.
