GBDEPresidentLocal company president will discuss money tips.

Local women looking for budgeting tips will be able to attend a free LifeForward workshop sponsored by Zonta Club of the Santa Clarita Valley.

The workshop, which will also help women protect themselves from identity theft, is the first in a series of LifeForward workshops to be presented this year by GBD Enterprises(GBDE), based in the Antelope Valley.

The first workshop presenter will be Leslye Mack, president of GBDE and director of empowerment training for the non-profit agency.

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, in the community room at Valencia Library.

Participants will learn how to create a budget, set spending goals, identity theft and how to protect themselves, and what to do if they are a victim of identify theft.

LifeForward programs are open to local women free of charge and will focus on such topics as financial management, communications and relationship skills, job hunting, time management, nutrition and wellness.

Upcoming topics include banking on November 14, credit and credit history on December 12, and borrowing basics on January 23, 2010.

The workshops are designed to empower women to believe in themselves and their unlimited potential, build the skills necessary to succeed and be the powerful woman they are meant to be.
