A Guide to Public Performances In Hart District Schools

Spring - 2007-2008 School Year

 

Every spring brings a wealth of musical and theatrical performances for the Hart District’s junior and senior high schools. Most are open to the public, either at nominal charge or free. Some of the valley’s most talented young musicians and actors are featured in a wide variety of community performances:

 

 

May 1-3 – Golden Valley High School’s spring musical, “Fiddler on the Roof” -  Hart Auditorium. Tickets are $12 for all seats.

 

May 2-3 – Hart High School Dance Team presents “Dancing in Paradise,” featuring guest dance studios and the Hart Dance Team performing its award-winning numbers. – 7 p.m., Hart HS large gym.

 

May 3 - The  Canyon High School Dance Team presents its year-end dance show, “Welcome to Hollywood” – 7 p.m., Canyon HS main gym.

 

May 8 - Placerita Junior High Spring Concert featuring all bands – 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium.  Free admission.

 

May 8 – Valencia High School’s Choral Spring Concert, featuring classical, Bulgarian, jazz, and music from around the world. All seven choral ensembles will be performing – 7 p.m., Valencia HS Theater. Admission $5 at the door .

 

May 9-10 - The Valencia High School Dance Show, with a video game theme. Local dance studios and other dance teams will perform in the show, along with the National Large Jazz Division Champions VHS Dance Team performing all competition dances from the past season, along with an original opening number   – 7 p.m., Valencia HS gym. Tickets $10.

 

May 9-11—Hart High School’s Choral Dept. will present" A Chorus Line" – 7 p.m. on May 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 11, Hart Auditorium. Tickets, $6 for students/seniors/children; $8, adults.

 

May 10—Canyon High School Band Spring Concert— 7 p.m., CHS main gym. Admission TBA

 

May 13 - Placerita Junior High Spring Concert, featuring the String Orchestra and Chorus – 7 p.m., Hart Auditorium.  Free admission.

 

May 13 - GoldenValley High School Children's Theatre Tour will perform “The Aristocats”’ – 12:40 and 1:40 p.m., Rio Vista Elementary School multipurpose room.  Admission is free; parents are encouraged to attend.

 

May 15 – Rancho Pico Junior High Spring Concert, featuring Rancho Pico bands, orchestra and choirs – 7 p.m., multipurpose room. Tickets, $3 at the door.

 

May 15 – Valencia High School Choir presents “Showcase of Talent” featuring selected scenes from “Tick, Tick, Boom,” “Hair,” and an original student-directed one act musical, “Dis-enchanted” – 7 p.m., Valencia HS Theater. Tickets $5 at the door.

 

May 19 – Golden Valley High School Spring Concert featuring Concert Band, Jazz Bands, Drum Line and Color Guard – 7 p.m., Golden Valley gym. Admission $5.

 

May 19 & 20—Canyon High School Choral Spring Concert—7:30 p.m., La Mesa JHS multipurpose room. Tickets $6 for adults and students without ASB card, $5 with ASB card; children 10 and under free.

 

May 20 – West Ranch High School choir and band present their spring concert – 7 p.m., Rancho Pico JHS multipurpose room. Admission $5.

 

May 20 – Hart High School spring concert, featuring the jazz band, concert band wind ensemble and percussion ensemble – 7:30 p.m., Hart Auditorium. Admission free.

 

May 21 – Golden Valley High School Choral Department presents May Melodies Spring Concert, featuring Solid Gold, Goldentones and student soloists – 7 p.m., Golden Valley HS gym. Admission $3. May 21-22 – Placerita Junior High School presents its annual Dinner Theater performance – 7 p.m., Tanner Hall. Tickets $15, includes dinner.

 

May 21-22 – Sierra Vista’s drama class presents its spring play, “Comic Book Artist,” by Pat Lydersen – 7 p.m. Sierra Vista JHS multipurpose room. Tickets $5 at the door.
