Single Mothers Women Art And Community Celebration

First Annual Celebration

Of

Women, Art, and Community

Announces Honorees and Artists

Do you know what Dianne Curtis, Jill Mellady and Marjanne Priest have in common? They will be among 25 women in Santa Clarita who will be honored for their work in the community on November 13, 2010 at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Empowering HeARTS will present the combined creative works of local writers and photographers who have collaborated to create unique and inspiring art forms based on the real life stories of Women Who Empower Women.

Do you know which of the honorees began a trucking business? Another who was one of four children raised by a single mom during the Depression, and another who cleaned hotel rooms and landed on her feet by building a multi-million dollar company. Come hear the amazing life stories of women who have changed lives and shaped our community.

The 25 honorees have been selected by local non-profit organizations including the Betty Ferguson Foundation, the Domestic Violence Center, Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Zonta and more.

The evening will culminate with an announcement of the best artistic expression as a panel of professional judges announces the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. The photographs will be available for purchase. Tickets may be purchased for $75.00 at www.SingleMothersOutreach.org. Also, visit the web site for a complete list of honorees, organizations, writers and photographers.

Elegantly bridging the worlds of social action and artistic expression.
