Today’s Woman’s Awareness Checklist
Sometimes the mind whispers a message and sometimes the body screams an alarm. Are you listening?
Energy
- Do you enjoy your days without concern of stamina or fatigue or does predictable fatigue determine how you schedule your day?
- Are your sleep patterns regular or irregular? Do you sleep days and stay awake nights?
- Do you keep to a fairly predictable schedule or is your schedule erratic?
- Do you exercise at least 3 days a week for 30 minutes?
Food
- Are your eating habits balanced with equal amounts of protein, carbohydrates and fat or do you tend towards only one of these groups?
- Do you drink high amounts of caffeine? More than 2 cups of coffee or 4 cups of tea a day?
- Do you eat at regular intervals every day or do you skip meals?
Pain
- Do you experience sharp intermittent pain?
- Do you experience dull aches, like a toothache, that persist?
- Do you experience stinging, itching or irritation?
- Do you have unexplained bruising or bleeding?
Hormones and Mood
- Do you operate on a relatively even keel or do you have mood swings that make you say or do things that you end up apologizing for later?

- Do you perform a monthly breast check? A yearly mammogram?

Sex
- Do you have sex with the same partner 1-2 times/week?
- Do you find you only want sex when you are on vacation or ‘unplugged’ from life’s usual demands?

Karen Roth, MS, NC earned her Master of Science degree in Holistic Nutrition from Hawthorn University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of California, Irvine.

In the area of public speaking, Karen brings her down-to-earth style of communication to community education classes, providing common sense nutrition back to the public in a way that is easy to understand and implement.
A member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals, Karen maintains a clinical nutrition practice in Valencia, California consulting with clients on a local, national and international basis. She produces a weekly “Food For Thought Thursday” video blog that is hosted on her website as well as on YouTube.
