Today’s Woman’s Awareness Checklist

Sometimes the mind whispers a message and sometimes the body screams an alarm. Are you listening?

Energy

  • Do you enjoy your days without concern of stamina or fatigue or does predictable fatigue determine how you schedule your day?
  • Are your sleep patterns regular or irregular? Do you sleep days and stay awake nights?
  • Do you keep to a fairly predictable schedule or is your schedule erratic?
  • Do you exercise at least 3 days a week for 30 minutes?

Food

  • Are your eating habits balanced with equal amounts of protein, carbohydrates and fat or do you tend towards only one of these groups?
  • Do you drink high amounts of caffeine? More than 2 cups of coffee or 4 cups of tea a day?
  • Do you eat at regular intervals every day or do you skip meals?

Pain

  • Do you experience sharp intermittent pain?
  • Do you experience dull aches, like a toothache, that persist?
  • Do you experience stinging, itching or irritation?
  • Do you have unexplained bruising or bleeding?

Hormones and Mood

  • Do you operate on a relatively even keel or do you have mood swings that make you say or do things that you end up apologizing for later?
  • Do you feel overly fearful, worried or sad?
  • Do you have something that you are looking forward to or do you feel like you are just ‘getting through’?
  • Do you have strong friendships/relationships?

Medical Appointment checklist

  • Do you perform a monthly breast check? A yearly mammogram?
  • Have you had a physical/gynecological check-up in the last year?
  • Have you seen a dermatologist for a mole check?

Sex

  • Do you have sex with the same partner 1-2 times/week?
  • Do you find you only want sex when you are on vacation or ‘unplugged’ from life’s usual demands?
  • Do you experience pain, irritation or fear/anxiety during sex?
