The USATF 2015 Indoor National Championship title comes six months after giving birth to her baby girl Linnea.

This was Montaño’s third race since becoming a mother last August, but the first time she has raced for the USAs since last June when she ran 8 months pregnant.

Montaño returned to the USATF in convincing fashion by winning her qualifying heat and running the third fastest time overall.

This put her in position to go up against rival Ajee Wilson, who took the crown as the 800 meter champion during Montaño’s pregnancy.

From the gun, Montaño and Wilson were stride for stride with each other for the first 200 meters.

It was 50 meters later that the race changed dramatically, with Wilson suddenly falling to the track.

Wilson’s heels were accidentally clipped by another runner, causing her and two other runners to see their championship aspirations sprint away.

Montaño finished the race strong by beating the second place finisher Phoebe Wright by one second.

Wilson’s fall caused her to finish the race in last place.

Montaño was not available for comment at this time.
