In the days leading up to the Patriots vs Bears game, a reporter from ESPN Boston interviewed Shane Vereen for an article on their website.
Vereen told the reporter he has never been hit by his brother in pads, but that the pair was “looking forward” to it in the upcoming game.
The Vereen’s family and friends are planning to attend the game at Gillette Stadium on Sunday to watch the brothers play, according to the article.
Vereen joked with ESPN Boston reporters about whether his family was planning to wear Patriots or Bears’ colors, saying that his mother said she would wear neutral colors but “she might switch it up on me.”
Shane Vereen, who attended the University of California, is running back for the Patriots, while Brock Vereen is a safety on the Bears.
Because Shane is the lead running back after Stevan Ridley’s “season-ending injury,” ESPN Boston reporters speculated that Brock will have “more than enough opportunities” to get hits on his brother.
According to the article, Shane plans to focus on improving their offense and giving their defense “more of a spell” during Sunday’s game.
