30 Reasons The Dodgers Will Win The World Series, No. 30: They’re Due

The 2017 Dodgers season ended one win short of a World Series title. We now move on to the 2018 season, which marks 30 years since the Los Angeles Dodgers last won the World Series. This breaks the hearts of many Santa Clarita Dodgers’ faithful.

Today also marks 30 days until Opening Day where the Dodgers will start their campaign to try to get just, One. More. Win.

Here is reason No. 30 the Dodgers will win the 2018 World Series:

They’re Due

The Dodgers have won five consecutive National League West titles.

They went on the best midseason run of any team in over one hundred years last season, which included a 43-7 stretch.

They are the reigning National League champions that came a disastrous Game 7 (innings 1 and 2) away from a World Series title.

They are the only National League team to have back-to-back Rookie of the Year winners in the past 25 seasons, and they’ve done it three times (five straight from 92-96).

They have the best pitcher in the world today, who will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when his time is over.

Los Angeles has a list of accomplishments that runs long, but the biggest one continues to elude and evade.

The Dodgers return every important piece from last season’s team. They have prospects such as power right-hander Walker Buehler and outfielder Alex Verdugo poised to take up where young guns Corey Seager and Cody Bellinger left off.

Speaking of Seager and Bellinger, two rising stars that haven’t come close to reaching their potential; the team is loaded.

It’s time to get it done, a full 30 seasons since the last one. They’re due.

It’s been 30 years since the Dodgers last World Series triumph in 1988. In honor of the ’88 team and respect for the championship-caliber 2018 club, we present our “30 IN 30” Spring Training series: 30 reasons why the Dodgers can win the World Series in 2018. We’ll count down from No. 30 to No. 1 every day up to Opening Day against the San Francisco Giants at Dodger Stadium.
