#LUMBUS: The Columbus Blue Jackets make their one and only visit to Los Angeles this regular season today as they finish up a three-game California swing. Columbus beat San Jose 5-4 Thursday night, but lost 4-1 to Anaheim on Friday. The Kings will be in Ohio for the second and final game of their season series with the Blue Jackets on February 9.

SIX AND…OH!: After the Kings’ roster achieved a couple of new personal milestones Thursday night against the Buffalo Sabres (Quick, franchise record 33rd career shutout; Carter, 100th point in a Kings uniform), there’s a chance they could set a franchise mark today against Columbus. The Kings never have been perfect during a six game home stand, but with a win today against the Blue Jackets, the Kings will post a 6-0-0 record during what is the club’s second-longest home stand of the season. The Kings will play seven consecutive games at STAPLES Center from January 3 to the 19th.

WHAT ABOUT BOB: Columbus’ Sergei Bobrovsky is expected to get the call in net today for the Blue Jackets. Bobrovsky earned his 99th-career win Thursday night against the Sharks, making 33 saves on 27 shots at SAP Center. The Blue Jackets’ goaltender is looking to hit the century milestone and grab his 100th NHL win today against the Kings. In his career, Bobrovsky is 1-2-1 when starting in net against the Kings.

IT’S SPECIAL: As far as special teams go, the Kings are in a pretty good swing. After killing off all three of Buffalo’s power plays Thursday night, the Kings have nixed 17 straight man advantage opportunities from the opposition, dating back to October 11’s matchup against the Arizona Coyotes. The Kings scored both of their goals against the Sabres on the power play, and are now 4-for-23 on the season. The Blue Jackets have surrendered three power play goals in their last two games, can the Kings execute today when the Blue Jackets hit the box?

QUICK BRICK: Jonathan Quick has been nothing short of outstanding as of late. In the last four games, all wins for the Kings, Quick has stopped 143 of the 145 shots he’s faced, including a 112:08 minute span without a goal allowed. Quick is 11-5 in 16 career starts against the Columbus Blue Jackets, and has won seven of his previous starts against Ohio’s club, dating back to January of 2011.

OUT AND ABOUT: Forwards Trevor Lewis and Marian Gaborik will remain out of today’s lineup, but they are making positive strides as the two continue to recover from injuries. Lewis skated in a full practice Saturday for the first time since being injured; he’s been skating without the team for a few days now. Marian Gaborik took to the ice following the Kings’ practice Saturday – the first time he’s skated since the Kings’ game against the Winnipeg Jets on October 12.

THE LAST TIME AROUND: In two meetings with Columbus last season, the Kings went 1-1-0 against the Blue Jackets, losing 5-3 at Ohio’s Nationwide Arena in January, and winning 2-1 in OT at STAPLES Center in February. Martin Jonesgot the loss in the first game, Jonathan Quick the win in the second game. Quick is expected to start for the Kings today. Defenseman Jake Muzzin, who returned to the Kings’ lineup Thursday night against Buffalo, scored the game-tying goal, in what was eventually a win, in Columbus’ lone visit to Los Angeles last season.
