REXALL FLEX: This is the second of five meetings with the Oilers this season, and the first of three at Edmonton’s Rexall Place. The Kings won the first meeting 6-1 on October 14 at STAPLES Center. The Oilers are home tonight for one game before returning to Calgary. Edmonton is 1-14-6 in its past 21 games; they’re coming off of a 4-1 loss to the Flames Saturday night. The Kings are playing the second of their three-game road trip. They’ll remain in Western Canada throughout. The Kings are 1-4-1 in their last six games away from Los Angeles.

MARTIN IN EDMONTON?: Given the fact that the Kings are playing their second game in 24 hours, there is a chanceMartin Jones could be called on to make his eighth start of the season tonight. Jones was one of only a few players to partake in a light morning skate at Rexall Place; he took shots from goaltending coach Bill Ranford. Jones is 3-3-1 on the season with a .921 SV% and a 2.04 GAA. Jones started the Kings’ previous game in Edmonton on April 10 of last season, posing a 17-save shutout in a 3-0 win over the Oilers.

MISSING MARIAN: One of the only other players to take to the ice this morning at Rexall Place was Marian Gaborik. Gaborik missed Monday night’s game with what is believed to have been a stomach ailment. Gaborik, in 24 games played this season, has registered 18 points (11G, 7A). He has points in each of his last six games, combining for 10 points (7G, 3A) during that span. Gaborik scored two goals the last time the Kings played the Oilers at Rexall Place, can he help get the Kings’ offense rolling again tonight in Edmonton?

OIL FLOW: Edmonton was busy on Monday, their front office that is. The Oilers claimed forward Matt Fraser off of waivers from the Boston Bruins, and acquired forward Derek Roy in a trade from the Nashville Predators. Roy registered 10 points (1G, 9A) in 26 games played with Nashville this season, while Fraser notched three goals in 24 games with Boston. Both players will make their Oilers debut tonight against the Kings.

LINEUP NOTES: Due to Marian Gaborik’s expected return to the lineup tonight, Jordan Nolan will likely sit out tonight’s game along with Andy Andreoff as a healthy scratch. It is unclear whether defenseman Jeff Schultz will play in his second game, or if Brayden McNabb will return to the Kings’ blue-line. With nothing set in stone, tonight’s lineup should look something as follows:

CENTURY SCRIVENS: Former King goaltender Ben Scrivens will get the call tonight for the Oilers, and it marks his 100th career NHL game. Scrivens, who hasn’t been playing in the best of situations this season, comes into the night with a 5-13-5 record with a .892 SV% and a 3.16 GAA. Scrivens played in 19 games for the Kings last season prior to being dealt to Edmonton. Can the Kings beat an old friend tonight?

THE LAST TIME AROUND: In the Kings’ previous visit to Edmonton’s Rexall Place on April 10 of last season, the Kings beat the Oilers 3-0. Marian Gaborik scored two goals, Anze Kopitar scored the other, and Martin Jones made 17 saves in the win. The Kings have not lost a game in regulation in Edmonton since February 28, 2008, they are 10-0-2 in that span, earning 22 of a possible 24 points in those past 12 trips to Edmonton.
