OTTAWA, ONTARIO: This is the first of two meetings with the Senators this season; Ottawa will visit STAPLES Center on February 26. The Kings swept the season-series last year. Ottawa snapped a five-game losing streak Sunday night with a 4-3 OT win over the Vancouver Canucks. Dave Cameron, who was promoted from assistant to head coach on Monday following Paul MacLean’s dismissal, will be coaching his very first game with the new job title.

STAYING PAT: Tonight’s lineup should look extremely similar to the one Darryl Sutter iced Tuesday night in Buffalo.Jonathan Quick, who left the ice first this morning, is expected to get the start in net. Marian Gaborik will again skate alongside Anze Kopitar and Justin Williams on the Kings’ first unit in his second game back from injury. Tyler Toffoli, Jeff Carter, and Tanner Pearson remain reunited as the Kings’ second unit.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN: The site of tonight’s game, Ottawa’s Canadian Tire Centre, is the building in which the Kings’ drafted Drew Doughty – 2nd overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. This will be his fourth time in the building since; the Kings are 2-1-0 in Ottawa since Doughty was drafted, he has one assist in those games. CLIFFORD BATTLING BACK: Kyle Clifford went down with flu-like symptoms following Saturday afternoon’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers. He missed Tuesday night’s game in Buffalo, his first time out of the Kings’ lineup all season. Clifford practiced with the team Tuesday at the Canadian Tire Center, but as an extra player alongside a line ofDwight King, Mike Richards, and Jordan Nolan. At today’s morning skate, Nolan was the only player from that group to stay on the ice for extra work – so expect Clifford to return to the lineup tonight.

GOTTA FIND THE NET: The Kings, after posting shutouts in three of four games, outscoring opponents 11-4, have lost two consecutive games, scoring only one combined goal in the two losses. The Kings fired away for a combined 72 shots in those losses, and attempted a whopping 139. Can the Kings get the offense churning tonight in what is the second game of their five-game road trip?

THE LAST TIME AROUND: In the Kings’ previous visit to Ottawa on December 14 of last season, they beat the Senators 5-2, scoring three goals in the first 13 minutes of the game. Anze Kopitar had two goals, Jeff Carter a goal and an assist, and Dwight King a goal and two assists. Martin Jones made 37 saves in the win. Since the Senators joined the league prior to the 1992-’93 season, the Kings are 6-6-0-1 when playing in Ottawa.
