Santa Clarita: The Best Amusement Parks To Visit by Car

Santa Clarita is an amazing sunny town that is the gateway to Los Angeles. It’s notable for its great opportunities for sightseeing and outdoor activities, including hiking, swimming and cycling.

It’s not a secret that Santa Clarita is often chosen by those who want to visit the unique places of the region, but avoid the noisy life of a large metropolis. Therefore, families with children are one of the most frequent guests of the city. Their goal is ultramodern amusement parks that can give a lot of impressions.

If you like thrills or your children require something truly exciting – there are several worthwhile places near Santa Clarita. We recommend picking up a car rental in Santa Clarita CA and going to the following amusement parks…

Six Flags Magic Mountains

Address: 26101 Magic Mountain Pkwy, Valencia, CA 91355

Distance from Santa Clarita: 5.1 miles via I-5 N highway

Six Flags Magic Mountain

One of the oldest parks was opened in 1969, and is located in the suburbs of Los Angeles, California. It’s better to plan a trip to this entertainment complex in the morning, because the abundance of all kinds of attractions and sufficiently large lines for a way to them will require more than one hour of time spent.

Here, pleasant excitement engulfs visitors long before the official entrance to the complex. The screams and squeals of entertaining guests are heard even from the parking space and cause a desire to quickly get into the park area.

In Six Flags Magic Mountain you’ll find more than 40 attractions, which are divided into three categories according to the degree of load on the cardiovascular system. Therefore, by acquiring a park map, you can easily determine the type of entertainment for yourself and your kids.

Twisted Colossus at Six Flags Magic Mountain

The main themes of adult entertainment are various superheroes such as Batman, Superman, Green Lantern and others. In total, the park has 25 dizzying slides and these are the coolest of them, guaranteeing a frantic surge of adrenaline.

The attraction called ‘Tatsu’ will undoubtedly be remembered for its non-standard body position during the trip. As soon as passengers take their seats, the seats roll over and your body is parallel to the earth’s plane. Further, the movement gradually increases and, having reached a peak height of 80 meters, passengers rush at a high speed from the top upside down.

The feelings experienced during such a fall can’t be described in words, you just need to visit the Six Flags Magic Mountains and leave in your memory such a trip.

Another crazy ride called Superman is a superfast climb in the trailer to the height of 127 meters at a speed of 160 km/h, where passengers experience an amazing state of weightlessness for as long as 6 seconds. Then there’s a rapid fall into the abyss and a chain of repeated ups and downs.

Well, the most modern and extreme roller coaster, which occupies the 33rd place in the ranking of the most terrible attractions in the world, is X2. Those who dare to experience this miracle of the latest technology find themselves in a supine dorsal position and rotate at a frantic speed in 5 dimensions. In this attraction, swivel chairs were used for the first time and the length of the entire roller coaster is more than one kilometer.

The children’s section is represented by the characters of various cartoons and includes fun carousels, playgrounds, a rope town, inflatable slides and other activities for little children.

In addition to fascinating attractions, the park has a water park, go-kart, numerous cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops. On holidays, the organizers of the complex hold colorful performances and grandiose show programs.

Six Flags Magic Mountains entertainment complex is waiting for its visitors every day in the summer from 9am till 10pm, while on winter days the park is open exclusively on weekends from 10am till 7 pm. The cost of visiting is $37 for an adult visitor and $32 for children over 3 years old.

Universal Studios Hollywood

Address: 100 Universal City Plaza, Universal City, CA 91608

Distance from Santa Clarita: 23.9 miles via I-5 S highway

Universal Studios

Universal Studios Hollywood theme park is the very first entertainment complex from the famous Universal Studios dedicated to its famous movies.

Currently, Universal Studios Hollywood has become a full-fledged amusement park with attractions and a variety of shows. In addition, similar parks have been opened in Orlando, Singapore and Osaka. Their total attendance reaches 50 million visitors per year.

Immediately before entering the world of entertainment, Universal Studios Hollywood revolves in the water fog to the well-known logo of the film studio in the form of the globe, and the red carpet leads from it to the gate. By the way, guests like to take pictures of this unique beauty.

The studio and theme park are located on a hill above North Hollywood. It was here that Jaws, Schindler’s List, Jurassic Park, Home Alone and Truman Show, Doctor House, Desperate Housewives, and hundreds of others films were shot.

When going there on a tour, keep in mind that it will take the whole day. The studio is striking in its scale: in fact, it’s a separate city entirely devoted to cinema. The rides here are incredibly realistic – they are thought out to the smallest detail. In the Jurassic Park, you will be attacked by almost real dinosaurs, and at other sites, cars will explode before your eyes and bridges will collapse.

Here you can even see the crash of the Boeing 747 in full size! You will find yourself in sunny Mexico, where rainfall will begin before your eyes, which will turn into tornado that sweeps away everything in its path.

Also, you’ll meet King Kong and feel the tremors during the earthquake.

The admission price to the park depends on the date of visit. Tickets for 1 specific day will cost $114–129 for adults (from 10 years old), $109–123 for kids (3–9 years old), and children under 3 years old are free of charge. Working hours are usually from 9am till 9pm in summer, and 9am-6pm in winter.
