As KHTS station co-owners and longtime residents, Jeri Seratti-Goldman and I pride ourselves in being active, involved Santa Clarita residents.
We work with most of the local nonprofits in Santa Clarita, and we host an annual political advocacy trip to Sacramento each March, when we travel with 110 community leaders from both sides of the aisle by bus to advocate on behalf of the top six or seven issues impacting Santa Clarita.
In addition, we host a similar community advocacy trip to Washington DC that we take every two or three years, depending on the need.
We pride ourselves by being involved and staying in touch with the most important issues impacting our valley.
Our KHTS news team is our in-house, award- winning staff focusing on news impacting Santa Clarita. We make every effort to be as fair and balanced with our coverage, something that, unfortunately, is not happening with many national and local news outlets throughout the country.
We separate our editorial content from our news. We do not post stories based on rumors or breaking information without checking our sources and making certain we’ve allowed both sides of a controversial issue to respond before going to print.
Our staff is made up of a broad spectrum of individuals, covering all sides of the political spectrum. We isolate our personal views inside our editorials. We separate these views from our news stories. We and our staff serve as a good check and balance to make certain we are being fair and balanced with each story.
We allow all sides of an issue to always share their opinions on our airwaves and on our website.
Often, in this social media era, it becomes even more challenging to be fair and balanced because rumors and unsubstantiated stories run rampant throughout the web. We often find ourselves slower posting a story so we are certain we have the facts correct. We are committed to continuing that policy and not caving in to the demands of readers and listeners to give them the information instantly. Accuracy is more important to us than speed.
To be totally transparent, we have decided to post on this page all political contributions we personally make, even though these donations are reported in public records by each candidate.
It is our right to personally donate to the candidates and causes of our choice, the ones we feel will have the most positive impact on our valley. However, we will not allow our personal preferences to impact remaining fair and balanced with our news.
Below is an ongoing list of all donations we have personally made to all candidates and issues since January 1, 2017. These donations are also available to the public on each candidate’s financial reports.
