Monthly goals can be a great way to bring out the best of yourself. Pretty much every successful people have discipline and organized life. An organized life is key to success. You can get that by setting up and completing monthly goals; it will also give you a purposeful mindset. Today I will help you set 18 monthly goal ideas to help you grow in 2022.

A well-known motivational speaker, Tony Robbins, says that failure and success aren’t giant events; they are the sum of little things you don’t do or do.

So instead of going for any significant changes, start by making small changes that may even look insufficient to you. Small positive changes will slowly improve your life, and you will be surprised by your personal growth. Small teeny tiny dos and don’t work like magic when it comes to personal growth.

How To Set Monthly Goals

Here is a fun fact, less than 10% of New Year’s resolutions are actually accomplished. Why do more than 90% fail? The reason is quite simple; their resolutions are too big to achieve overnight, on top of that, they are not clear.

Clear Goals

Doesn’t matter how big or small your goal is. It has to be precise. If you have confusion with your goals, then take some time and think about it. Think until you are clear on exactly what you want to achieve.

Size of Goal

Yea, goals can be small as drinking water every morning to big as becoming the CEO of a company. If your goal is something bis, such as becoming the company’s CEO, you have to give time and stay consistent. You can’t achieve it overnight. But indeed, it is achievable for you if you don’t give up midway.

Take Action

Taking action is very important. If you keep making a list of goals and do not take any action on it, then there is no point in making a goal list in the first place.

Once you make a list of your goals, it’s time to take action. Now break down those goals into actionable steps so that you can do it every day. Remove any unnecessary distractions so you can focus on these steps.

18 Monthly Goals

  1. Read A Book

Your mind needs books like a sword needs a whetstone. Reading opens up the mind. If you look up the daily habits of successful people, you will find most of them, if not all, read books daily. They make a rule to read a few pages every day even if they are busy.

You don’t have to necessarily finish a book every month. But trying to finish a book per month can increase your reading speed and give you reason or drive to read daily. If you read one book per month, that’s 12 books per year. Imagine how much knowledge you can gather and how many skill sets you can acquire by reading daily. Reading a book per month is one of the best monthly goals, in my opinion.

It will help your personality take shape and improve every month. Constant improvement is how we achieve our dreams.

  1. Stretch Daily

You don’t have to spend hours stretching. Simple 5-10 minutes of stretching every morning are very doable. It can help you with blood circulation and improve your mental well-being.

  1. Walk More

It is good to take a walk in the morning. But if you have a busy schedule, then just trying to walk more, in general, will do. Instead of taking a ride walk short distances, use stairs instead of a lift. These small steps will help you stay fit and healthy.

  1. Yoga

I highly recommend doing yoga for many reasons. Yoga is essential for peace of mind, improved focus, mental and physical well-being.

Yoga won’t take much of your time. Yoga is also called “you time.” Because during yoga, you become relaxed and forget all your stress and worry.

  1. Donate Unimportant Items

Over the years, you probably have accumulated a lot of unimportant items. It could be office or household items. Instead of piling up junk, donate them. Donating will reduce junk for you and give you a sense of pleasure. Because you are giving away stuff for free that people are happy to take. It is like charity.

If you make a rule like every time you buy something new, you will have to give away something of a similar size. This habit won’t let you buy unnecessary things, and it is good advice from a financial point of view.

  1. Lower Your Debt

Dept keeps a constant mental pressure and stress on you. So do proper planning, hire a financial consultant and get your debt mess in order.

  1. Save Money

Saving money is always good. You can save up and buy something you want. You can buy something that gives pleasure like a PS5, or something that will make your daily travel easy, like a car.

Saved-up money can come in handy in times of emergency.

  1. Volunteer in Your Community

Your gratitude grows when you give to someone else. You will find inner peace and pure joy by helping out your community. It is a good way to give back to the community.

  1. Learn New Skill

Learning is equivalent to growing. The more you learn more you grow. So try to learn a skill every month or so. It could be something to polish a skill you already have or something out of the ordinary.

There is no end to learning. Come out of your comfort zone and challenge your self you keep learning new things every month.

  1. Eat Out Less

I know eating out is more fun and usually testier. But you also have to consider the fact it costs more to eat at a restaurant, and it might not even be healthy. If you eat fast food, it is even worse for your health.

So try limiting the number of times you eat outside monthly. By doing so, you will save money, and your health will improve.

  1. Create One Healthy Habit

Healthy habits are usually dull. Even if we try to make a bunch of healthy habits, we give up on them pretty quickly. This happens because we try to make a lot of things our habit at once. Of course, you will get tired or bored and get rid of them.

So take one habit at a time. If you try to create one healthy pattern per month, it will be easier to follow them. By the end of the year, you will find yourself with 12 healthy habits that you never thought you could follow.

  1. Make a New Friend

Try to make one new friend every month or try to get to know a new person. It will enhance your social skills. Meeting or getting to know new people will teach you so much about a different perspective, personality, and mindset. It will diversify your network by a big time. As your network grows, it increases your opportunity in professional life.

There is a famous saying, meet and greet to serve and grow.

  1. Conduct an Act of Kindness

Try to conduct at least one act of kindness a day, almost 30 acts of kindness in a month. The world is becoming more commercial and less sympathetic. By doing random good deeds, from which you don’t expect anything back, surely make a change. Doesn’t matter how small the deed is; it will surely affect someone.

Putt your selfishness, hostility, ego, and fussy attitude in your back pocket. Surprise someone by lending a helping hand. Trust me, the sheer happiness and fullness you will feel can not be replicated by any amount of money.

You can make someone’s morning by offering a cup of coffee or giving your time to listen to their problems. Anything good you do throughout the day will get counted as an act of kindness.

  1. Improve a Personal Problem

I have noticed when I solve a personal problem of mine; it boosts my confidence. Besides, it’s never a good idea to drag issues instead of solving them. So take your time and fix any personal problem you have every month.

  1. Improve Your Relationship

Let’s be honest; we all have relationship problems. Either with a friend, lover, family, or someone else. It’s nothing to be embarrassed about. So face your relationship problems and fix them. A study conducted at Harvard University found that a happy relationship is a significant factor in living a long life.

So throw yourself a challenge that you will take action every month from now on to improve your relationship. It could be a relationship with coworkers or family members.

  1. Practice Forgiveness

As Indira Gandhi once said, “forgiveness is a virtue of the brave.” It takes courage and a big heart to forgive the people who wronged you. It is most likely that you will hold on to the feelings when you get hurt. But if you hold on to that feeling and go on with your daily life, it will dilute the good in you and make you bitter.

Negativity will grow, and you won’t be able to perform your best. So for the betterment of yourself, you have to let go of any negative feelings and forgive people who wronged you. You don’t necessarily have to become friends or anything. Just forgive them and go on living your life.

  1. Keep Away The Phone While Sleeping

Do you sometimes have trouble sleeping or wake up in the middle of the night and find yourself reaching for your phone? You are not the only one. I had that terrible habit too. It disrupted my sleep cycle and made me sluggish in the morning.

When I started sleeping with my phone in another room, slowly my sleep cycle came into order. I still had the temptation to check my social media at 3 am, but I didn’t have my phone with me, so I just closed my eyes shut. Now I don’t have any trouble sleeping, and in the morning, I feel fresh and energetic.

It may sound a bit difficult as you are probably used to sleeping while using your phone. But try to sleep without your phone for a month. It will become a healthy habit that you won’t regret.

  1. Track Your Food Intake For A Month

You don’t have to spend money and hire a nutritionist. Just download a free food tracker app. Use the app to track your daily food intake for a month. This will be a great way to see if you are overeating or eating less. Your calorie intake, protein, nutrition, everything will be clear for you. Then you can decide how you should eat or what your diet plan should be like.

I use MyFitnessPal to track my food intake. And it surely helps me to stay on track.
