6 Things That Make Living With A Hairy Pet A Lot Easier

We love our pets unconditionally. What we don’t love, however, is the amount of hair that they leave strewn around. Our favorite sofas quickly become ruined, whether it be through our pet scratching them or shedding their fur, and our carpets and flooring become stained and marked. Thankfully, there are some solutions available.

Ordinary vacuum cleaners can struggle to collect all of the pet furs, so do not swear off of vacuum cleaners until you have tried a specialized pet fur vacuum cleaner.

Groom Your Pet

Grooming your pet is essential. Grooming your pet removes matted hair and clumps of hair that would otherwise fall on your floor. Your pet will shed regardless of whether or not you groom them, and by grooming them, you are reducing the amount of hair that has the opportunity to fall. You should groom your pet at least once a day and twice a day while they are shedding fur in the summer months. This is not only good for your floor, but for your pet too, and can reduce stress and anxiety.

Furniture Covers

Furniture covers are an ingenious way to prevent your pet from shedding fur all over your favorite furniture. It may be too late for the carpet, but not for the sofas, chairs, and beds! Put removable covers down on the items of furniture that you do not want your pet to shed on, and take them off when you are using them; this will serve as a way to prevent your pet from being able to leave their hair all over the place and stop your house from looking so unsightly. Dress Your Pet Up

Some pet experts recommend dressing your pet up to prevent them from shedding their hair all over your house. Between grooming sessions, put a jumper or a shirt on your pet [a pet shirt of course, not a human shirt.

This can be a very effective measure employed to prevent them from being able to roll around and leave their fur everywhere. You can find pet clothes at your local pet store, ordinarily for a very low price. It may require some coaxing to get them to wear it, however, so good luck with that!

Use Strategic Throw Rugs

Put strategic throw rugs on the floor in places where your pet likes to lie. By doing this, your pet will likely still lie in the same places but will just be unable to cover your carpet with fur. You can pick up throw rugs from your local supermarket or home store – any will do – as they will solely be there as a preventative measure. You should arrange them in places your pet likes to relax or walk around, and that way should be able to stop a lot of fur from being left around your home.

Keep Those Paws Clean

Every single time your pet goes outdoors, brush those paws. Your pet can leave a lot of dirt and grime, as well as fur, around your home. When they are coming from outside to in, be sure to clean their paws.

You would be surprised at the amount of dirt they can carry around with them on their little paws. You can find paw brushes at your local supermarket or can just use a wet towel if you do not want to spend any money.
