You’re also dealing with wires, and cords carrying an electrical current. There’s the risk of shock, burns, and scrapes. 

You need to be moderately in shape to perform the job. Some AC units can weigh 50lbs or more. This poses a risk to your back if not carried properly.

  1. I agree that one does need proper education to become an HVAC Technician.
    Unless you’re inventing something new, heating and cooling technology have scientific data and measurements for you to interpret on the job. The HVAC industry has since developed and the advance control components need at least a high school diploma and professional training to understand and implement.
