On this episode of The Action Drug Rehab Hour, host Cary Quashen brings Pastor Dan Broyles of Valencia Hills Community Church and Robbie Robinson on to the show .
Starting off the show, Cary speaks with Dan about the topic of grief and loss. Dan chimes in with how grief is engulfing and is felt both physically and spiritually, as a whole being. Later, they go into detail about parent and teen relationships and how parents spending more time with their teens as opposed to their friends is crucial for their developmental well-being. Robbie chimes in with his experience teaching his martial arts students, stressing how connection is the key to seeing progress in people.
At the Second half, Action reads some user submitted comments from the Facebook live stream. Pastor Dan chimes in with how just simply acknowledging someone’s pain can prove to be a validating experience for them. The three also go into detail about how progress isn’t perfect and that it’s the small steps that ultimately matter most. Dan highlights this by stating, “Don’t try to make it all better at once”.
Finally, Dan wraps up the show by stating how lack of emotions is mistakenly perceived as strength. He also gives listeners a resource for Family Stress Support offered by Valencia Hills Care.
