Action Drug Rehab Hour –Sabrina and Erin’s stories – November 28, 2022

On this episode of The Action Drug Rehab Hour, Cary Quashen welcomes in Erin and Sabrina to discuss their stories.

Cary opens the show by speaking with Sabrina who is a week sober and working the program at Action Rehab. Sabrina began drinking which eventually led to drug use including cocaine. It was losing her mother in her battle with cancer that she says really began to spiral her life out of control. However, things only got worse when her brother overdosed just last week. Now, Sabrina is looking to change her life for the better for her own sake and that of her daughter’s.

Later, Cary speak with Erin who shares her story about her son who showed the early warning signs of drug abuse. After moving back home before completing his doctorate at USC, her son became addicted to drugs. After multiple other methods and strategies that Erin had implemented failed, she was finally able to get her son to enter rehab at Action. Her son was six months sober but unfortunately relapsed, resulting in an overdose. Though he survived, he was arrested shortly after that incident and has been in jail for the last three years awaiting his sentencing. Erin’s advice for parents out there, are to be present, aware, and not wait for their child’s rock bottom to take action.

“Talk to your kids every day, even if they don’t live with you, call them on the phone,” Erin said. “If you’re the kid, talk to somebody. If you’re going through something maybe they can help you, you don’t have to do it alone.”
