Action Drug Rehab Hour –The War On Drugs, Fentanyl Continues In Our Communities – November 21, 2022
On this episode of The Action Drug Rehab Hour, Cary Quashen co-hosts with Robbie Robinson to discuss the continuing drug epidemic that has swept the country and even Santa Clarita. The two open the show by discussing the danger of using any drugs. Cary specifically points out that the notion of “Fentanyl kills”, a message being broadcasted throughout the United States is misleading. Cary counters, the message should in fact be that “All drugs kill” his reason being that nearly all drugs sold and purchased on the street contain fentanyl and will ultimately end lives.
The two go on to discuss the importance of parenting. They reference phones and the accessibility that kids have to their friends and deadly drugs through apps such as Snapchat. They also discuss how important it is for parents to put down the phone and have meaningful conversations with their children in order to build a relationship and ensure they never start using drugs to begin with.
“If you don’t do your job parenting, the world around you will do it for you,” Cary said.
“A lot of parents want to be their kids friends,” Robbie replied. “When my mother spoke, I listened. We have to have respect, if there is no respect, people do whatever they want.”
