Mental Health Awareness Month – May 5, 2020

Our first guest on the show is Kevin MacDonald, CEO of the SCV Senior Center. Kevin calls in to the show to talk about what the SCV Senior Center is doing to continue to serve seniors across the valley. Kevin has fondly dubbed his staff the “Bellavida Warriors” because of their unwavering commitment to keeping the seniors of Santa Clarita safe and healthy in their homes. Kevin encourages anyone who is a senior or knows a senior to call the Senior Center at (661) 259-9444. The Senior Center is delivering meals, providing a drive-thru for meals for seniors who can still drive, and even over-the-phone counseling to help seniors in any way possible. Their long list of supportive services doesn’t stop there, so check out their website by clicking here or give them a call at (661) 259-9444.

Our next guest on the show is, Dawnel Derubeis. She calls in to talk about the virtual fundraiser she has been running and how they have been able to essentially complete their goal. Everything from donations to sponsors to team members all came through to help make the fundraiser happen. Dawnel and Myles go on to talk about Mental Health Awareness month which is this month. Dawnel takes mental health very seriously, and wants to help people find help for whatever they may be experiencing.
